1st Annual “it’s all about art” Juried Exhibition

In January 2009 BUCKS Magazine will host the 1st Annual “it’s all about art” Juried Exhibition - to support and promote the visual arts in Bucks and Hunderton Counties. Selected artists will be included as part of a group exhibition in one of three venues located in Bucks County and Lambertville. In addition prizes will be awarded to the best in show and runners up.

• All inclusive trip to St Lucia - 5 days 4 nights (accommodations for 2 valued $10,000)
• One solo exhibition at the Bucks Gallery of Fine Art in Newtown, Pa
• All accepted works will be included in group exhibition

• Gift certificates to Ventresca Tailors ($100 each)
• No cash awards

EVENT SCHEDULE
Application deadline – October 24th, 2008
Jury selection – November 2008
Notification of selections - December 1, 2008
Delivery of work – January 4-7, 2009
Exhibition dates - January 16, 2009-February 28, 2009
Pick up work – March 1-3, 2009

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all U.S. resident artists at least 18 years of age.
Eligible entries include paintings, mixed media, and works on paper, photography, sculpture, installation art and performance work. Installation work needs to be adaptable to the host venue. Open call to all artists, 18 years or older & citizens of the United States of America
Maximum (5) entries per artist
All media: Painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, sculpture, installation art and performance work. All work must be the original work of the applicant and framed or suitable for gallery installation.
Entry fee: $25 per entry

ACCEPTANCE
Accepted work may be refused if it does not conform to the image entry, at the Jurors’ discretion. No substitutions of accepted works will be allowed. All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit. An opening reception will be arranged for each venue.
Artists will be responsible for delivery and return shipping of all their artwork.

SALES
Unless otherwise specified, accepted works will be considered for sale at the price indicated and 50% of the selling price will be retained by host venue or gallery. A purchaser may not remove work until the end of the exhibition.

INSURANCE
Great care will be taken with all work, but artists are responsible for insuring their own pieces if they wish. The individual galleries and venues along with Bucks Magazine will not be responsible for any loss or damage to work while on the premises or in transit to or from the gallery.

DELIVERY & RETURN
All work must be suitably framed, wired and ready for hanging, or installation. Graphics, prints, watercolors and pastels must be framed under Plexiglas or glass. Shipped work must be packaged in a reusable container. A prepaid waybill for its return must be enclosed. Please make shipping arrangements through the U.S. Postal Service, DHL, FedEx, or UPS. COD returns are not acceptable. The gallery accepts no responsibility for work not retrieved on the pick-up dates and will charge the artist $5.00 a day thereafter for storage. After 30 days the gallery may dispose of the work.

IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS
Number of Images: 5 JPEG images total
Files must be named and numbered sequentially beginning with 00 up to 09.
Example: Lastname_Firstname _00.jpg with the number indicating the slide order.

Image type: JPEG or “.jpg” only (all other file formats will be removed)

Maximum dimensions: 800 pixels (tall) x 1200 pixels (wide)

Color mode: RGB (files in CMYK will be removed)

Resolution: 72 dpi (NO MAIL - IN CD’s will be accepted)

Entry Fee $25 per entry piece (US Dollars only)
